Planning on Owning a Pet?
Dubai is a city which prides itself on the wide range of choices available to its residents. Some want a Ferrari, others are happy to drive an eight year old Audi. An apartment in The Greens is sufficient for one person’s needs, another may be happier in a Jumeirah villa. Some are quite happy with a shawarma some nights but the occasional dinner at a swanky restaurant goes down well too. Cost comes into it of course but I know plenty of seriously rich people who don’t need a Rolex to tell the time.
It’s the same with pets. People here own pets for a variety of reasons- company, philanthropy, family history, to note but three. There are plenty of wonderful stray animals who need a home and thankfully lots of kind people who want to give a rescue pet a forever home. There are some who want a specific breed.
To the vets and staff at Energetic Panacea pets are pets regardless of their origins. We work actively with rehoming charities to help find foster families and permanent homes for stray animals and carry out our veterinary duties with care and compassion when needed. We work closely with Feline Friends and also help stray animals who are found anywhere in UAE. We often home abandoned pets and our staff own pets who have been rescued.
There’s nothing wrong with choosing to buy a pedigree pet. Sure, the breed may come with known problems caused by inbreeding and poor choice of sire and dam, and there’s also the high cost and difficulty associated with finding a suitable breeder or supplier. But individual breeds have their own charm, looks and character desired by owners.
We are also happy to be working with a Hungarian company called Euro Puppy who are suppliers of pedigree dogs across the world. We have met with the CEO of Euro Puppy discussed with him the concerns we had about the existing retailers and importers of puppies in the UAE. We see examples of poorly-sourced animals with health issues or inadequate vaccinations on an all-too-regular basis from low quality companies.
Euro Puppy is different. Puppies from a large number of carefully chosen breeders are vaccinated correctly and this is backed up with detailed documentation (including pedigree certificates) before setting out on their journey to the UAE, arriving at 16 weeks of age.
We will point out at this stage that we have no financial involvement with Euro Puppy. We are not paid to promote them and receive no commission on any purchases made. It’s important that we are completely independent so that we can give a totally honest appraisal of the dogs we see, however we work closely with them in order to monitor the health of the young pups they import.
As part of this service a veterinary health check within 48 hours of arrival is advised, the cost of which has already been covered in the purchase price of the puppy. We then report back to Euro Puppy, covering everything from customer satisfaction to any issues noted on examination, however insignificant.
As part of their excellent service Euro Puppy are now offering a 30 day money back guarantee on any puppy which has a serious health issue or is not the one advertised. So far we have not seen any puppy which would have any reason to be returned and the customer refunded but it is a mark of their commitment to supplying the highest quality pets that they can offer this assurance. An important condition of this guarantee is that Euro Puppy dogs have an annual checkup at Energetic Panacea.
